First Forum for Digital Communication in Kurdistan Region of Iraq

Information:

  • Number of invitees: 250 persons (additionally to 100 persons to be awarded accolades and 15 persons to be awarded the Plaquettes)
  • Attendees will be invited for lunch.
  • The accolade shall be designed as it was agreed for. The following statement shall be written:

“Forum of Kurdistan-Iraq sponsored by Tishk International University. March 2024”

  • The plaquette shall be designed the same as the previous one. But just the Tishk International University name to be added and the new date.
  • Ten media professionals shall be invited to cover the event.
  • Names of those to be awarded the plaquette as “pioneers” are 15:

  • Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of Board of Trustees – TIU
  • Dr. Sultan Abu Orabi, President – TIU
  • Dr. Ahmad Dizayi, Former President of Salahaddin University-Hawler.
  • The representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Kurdistan Region.
  • The representative of the Ministry of Culture and Media.
  • The representative of the Ministry of Interior.
  • Journalists’ representative.
  • Professor in media.
  • Professor in Computer engineering/science
  • TIU Shareholder

From Iraq (3 persons):

  • Lebnan Alshami, Head of the Experts and the Advisors
  • Dr. Sabah Klo, Dean of Almansour College
  • Dr. Abd Alsattar Shakir, Vice Dean of Almansour College

Those to be awarded the accolade are 100, as the followings:

  • 80 persons from Kurdistan Region, to be selected by the Organizing Committee

(can include: Presidents of public and private universities, media advisors, journalists, Satellite channels, Officilas in the Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Interior, and Council of Ministers).

  • 20 persons from Iraq to be selected by the Digital Transformation Agency later.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris HadiHead of Board of Trustees at TIU

Head of Board of Trustees at Tishk International University in Erbil, Iraq. He held several ministerial positions in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. He is a former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) (2006-2009), a former Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Iraq (2005-2006), and a former Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Iraq I am in charge of Iraq (2004-2005), former KRG Minister of Urban Tourism (1998), former KRG Minister of Industry and Energy (1996), former KRG Minister of Transport and Communications (1992-1996). Dr. Idris also served as Rector of Salahaddin University, Erbil, Iraq, from 1999 to 2000, and Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Salahaddin University from 1985 to 1990. He speaks Kurdish, Arabic, English, Russian, and some Turkish.
